We have decided to adopt a maximum intolerance policy that could mean clumsy but valid visits to the ingrates results in an unjustified blacklisting.
We use hits as suspected by Wassup to give us IP addresses to add to our blacklist.

A particular case you might have, is where you are with an ISP who issue dynamic IP addresses and the last customer allocated that address attempted to hack this blog. Please take this up with your ISP, who can take it up with intellectually challenged numpty with too much time on their hands.

We have now added the Project Honeypot Spam trap plugin and signed up for their excellent free service. We should only need to manually block addresses on rare occasions from now on.
